Orthodontics in children
In children, because of the jaw growth mentioned above, a removable appliance is used first. In the second phase of treatment, a fixed, or multiband, appliance is used to adjust the teeth precisely.
Adult orthodontics
Adults are always treated with a fixed device. As it is no longer possible to control the growth of the jawbone, removable appliances are no longer used. In the case of a high degree of jawbone malformation, orthodontic treatment is completed by surgical correction of the jawbone and its positioning.
When it is proven that it is necessary to orthodontics procedure, the first question on everyone's mind is how long the treatment will last.
Treatment in children is about 2 years with a removable device and 1-2 years with a fixed device.
In adulthood, the duration of treatment can be 1-2 years, but if surgical treatment is required, it can last up to 3 years.
